Northwestern State University is authorized to enroll students from this state because the university participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA).

May 14, 2014:  NSU requested an update on New Mexico state authorization policy.  Due to a confidentiality clause, the email cannot be placed on this website in its entirety.  However, in it, a representative of the New Mexico Higher Education Department notes the deparment's efforts to join SARA, and reiterates that, as long as NSU does not actively recruit in New Mexico, NSU is exempt from registering all online programs that do not require an internship, practicum, or clinical.
